The major measure for its control is biosecurity. For the farms having recurrent outbreak of colibacillosis should have the water tested for bacterial count, coliform count. If the water is found to be a problem using Water Filters which do not allow the bacteria to enter into the filtered water will be a solution to minimize the problem. After having water sample tested if positive for E. coli then respective antibiotics can be used after AST.

The major issue to check Avian colibacillosis is to control the inappropriate transportation system of chicks form hatchery to farm, as the transport vehicle are carrying the feed bags and other materials, So chicks get aerial transmission in their young age during which they haven’t developed any kind of the immunity. And another issue for Colibacillosis is poor quality water and feed, containing the higher coliform count on it, which causes the recurrent outbreaks, to control the recurrent outbreaks the water and feed quality of such farms and feed company should be exam for the coliform count and if found more then desirable then appropriate measures of water sanitation , disinfection and filtration and use of the pelleted feed , along with gut acidification by acidifire can be done to reduce the severity.
